XCELLENT PRODUCTIONS is a London-based film and visual production studio founded by filmmaker and art director Phoenix Zhao.

Rooted in performance studies and formally trained at the Central Academy of Drama and the London Film School, Phoenix brings a multidisciplinary approach to image-making , that integrates dramaturgy, visual composition and spatial awareness.

 

Working between the UK and China, the studio moves across cultural contexts with fluency, bridging different aesthetic traditions and production systems. This cross-cultural perspective informs both the conceptual development and the execution of each project, ensuring that visual storytelling is grounded in clarity, nuance and cultural sensitivity.
